Katherine Janness, 40, and her dog Bowie were brutally stabbed to death at Piedmont Park in what Atlanta police describe as a ‘gruesome’ scene.

Authorities are saying that Janness was stabbed multiple times.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Emma Clark, Janess’ partner of seven years, said that Janness went to the park to walk their dog but never returned.

When Janess failed to return to their home, Clark tracked her partner’s location and went to the park, only to discover her girlfriend’s disfigured body near the entrance.

ACCORDING TO ABC NEWS, the FBI has now joined forces with the Atlanta Police Department to investigate her death.

Surveillance images shared by the police show Janness crossing a street near the park minutes before she and her dog were found stabbed. There have been no arrests so far.

Her partner’s father, Joe Clark, did not mince words, “There is a monster loose in Atlanta. What they did to her is ridiculous.”

Deputy police chief Charles Hampton called it a gruesome scene.

A reward of $10,000 is being offered for tips or information that could help solve this murder case.
