A highly decorated boxer from Russia is in grave condition after wrestling and stabbing a brown bear to death after it mauled his friend to death.
The incident happened around the Irtysh river area in Siberia.
23-year-old boxer Ilya Medvedev and 48-year-old Vyacheslav Dudnik were fishing when the brown bear attacked them.

Dudnik was reportedly mauled to death by the ursine before attacking Medvedev.
Authorities have since launched an investigation into the incident.
