German coach Kim Raisner faced severe criticism and was booted out of the Tokyo Olympics after punching a horse named Saint Boy with her fist at the Women’s Modern Pentathlon competition.

Raiser could be heard yelling at the horse’s rider, Germany’s Annika Schleu, to ‘really hit’ the animal, which she did.

According to the BBC, as the startled horse backed up to where Raisner was standing, she punched Saint Boy.

The Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) said it reviewed video footage and disqualified Raisner from the remainder of the Olympic games.

Schleu appeared highly frustrated during the event, crying while mounted on her horse.

The BBC reported that Saint Boy cleared four fences before crashing into the next and refusing to continue.
