One of the most talked-about films not in competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival was “Lamb.” Icelandic director Valdimar Jhannsson‘s debut movie, which featured Noomi Rapace, was met with universal acclaim.

A24 picked up the rights to the horror film “Lamb” before the start of the Cannes Film Festival.

The studio has a history of making moody horror films that can be quickly turned into mainstream hits – “The Witch,” “Midsommar,” and “Hereditary” are prime examples of A24’s word-of-mouth bestsellers.

Watch the studio’s official trailer for the movie below.

Valdimar Jhannsson’s striking debut film, “Lamb,” revolves around a childless couple, played by Noomi Rapace and Hilmir Snær Guðnason, who discovers an unusual mutated lamb in their sheep barn.

“Lamb” will be released on October 8.
